Gold Star
Unison Health Plan of Ohio’s Gold Star program identifies Primary Care Physicians who have achieved Unison’s highest designation of quality standards.
The Unison Gold Star Physicians Program:
-
Recognizes participating physicians who provide quality healthcare services to our members;
-
Relieves physicians from paper work (reduces prior authorizations requirements); and
-
Rewards excellence by thanking our physicians for doing what they do best.
The award is effective from Nov. 1, 2007, through April 30, 2008.
Learn how to gain Gold Star designation by contacting Unison's Provider Relations Team.
Three methods easily verify a Gold Star physician.
-
Gold Star Portal. When providers log in to the Unison website to verify member eligibility, the PCP information for patients will include Gold Star status and state: “This is a Gold Star provider.” In the Find a Provider section of the website, the star shown below will be next to the name of a Gold Star provider:
-
Gold Star Extension. This new component of Unison’s internal computer system allows our customer service teams to provide detailed records of a member’s Gold Star status, including a member’s Gold Star Primary Care Physician and dates a member is actively with a Gold Star PCP.
-
Gold Star on the Unison Interactive Voice Response (IVR). When a provider calls the Unison Health Plan Verification Line to verify member eligibility information, the IVR will provide this message during the playback of an eligible member’s PCP information: “This is a Gold Star provider.”
